Charlie Finnigan and his bride Marie had seven children when tragity struck. At age 42 Charlie lost his wife and newborn daughter. In spite of the enormous challenge and against all odds Charlie would recover from the loss and become the architect that would show his children the way to greatness and they would make the world a better place.
Charlie didn’t set out to raise company founders, inventors, global consultants or the millionaires that his children would become, he set out to keep his children fed, clothed, and intact. But in doing so, he built a launchpad that brought his children to greatness, global in scale: Their accompslishments were simply incredible!
All the boys served in the military. Jim spent a career as a USAF flight safety officer. Jerry a VP at Owens Corning Fiberglass marketing safer insulation. Bob was founder of Finnigan Corp inventing the GC/MS for drug and pollution ID. Denny was EVP at Stanford Research Instititute creating a global computer consulting practice. Kathleen was program director at Macys managing a nationwide bridal program. John was a computer analyst at Lockheed builting a Hospital Information Systems including the first blood bank for the American Red Cross. Paul was founder of Voicemail International introducing the first Voicemal services offered in the U.S., Europe, Scandinavia and the Pacific Rim.
Along the way:
- Bob was inducted to the American Chemical Society Hall of Fame.
- Bob was also awarded the Winston Churchill Medal of Wisdom.
- Denny was inducted to Sweden's Royal Order of the North Star.
- Denny was conferred Knighthood by the King of Sweden.
- Denny was also Inducted to SRI International Alumni Hall of Fame.
- Paul was inducted to SRI International Alumni Hall of Fame.
- Paul was awarded the trademark "Voicemail" by U.S. Trademark Office.
- Paul was elected President of the International Voicemail Association.
